Encounter Session Page 45 - God Among Us (please watch this movie)
We had originally planned to bring you and your child to the church for an Encounter Session, where you and your child could experience the Presence of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Due to ongoing Covid protocols, it seems unlikely that we will be able to have this opportunity. We really encourage you to watch the movie below, while the quality may not be what we are used to these days, the message is great and I’m sure that both you and your child will be moved by it!

WORKBOOK PAGE 22 - Treasures of Reconciliation Activity - in your pouch...
“TREASURES” we receive each time we go to Confession – all material should be in an envelope in your pouch
It helps us say NO to sin.
It helps us to be GOOD and OBEDIENT.
It brings us CLOSER to GOD.
It INCREASES the GRACE in our SOUL.
It helps the LIGHT of JESUS shine brightly in our HEART.
WORKBOOK PAGE 26 - Our Sins are Washed Away - in your pouch...
Explain that when we are baptized, our souls are free of sin. Using WASHABLE MARKERS, ask your child to scribble and write SIN all over the heart while he or she lists everyday sins we commit.
Next, explain that sin causes 'messiness' in our hearts and our lives. Remind them that Sin causes us to feel far away from God. Sin hurts our friendship with Jesus.
The bowl represents the sacrament of confession and the water represents Jesus. Jesus is always waiting patiently for us to return to Him...
Give your Heart to Jesus: As you place the messy heart in the water, tell them that Jesus invites us to Confession to cleanse us of our sins.
When we confess our sins to Jesus, through the priest, our sins are washed away, they are completely gone! Grace in our soul is restored, just like the day we were baptised.
**BIBLE STORIES**
Watch these short Bible Story videos to help reinforce Jesus' message of LOVE, COMPASSION & MERCY.
The Story of Zacchaeus – Luke 19:1- 10
This story illustrates how Jesus’ message of Love & Mercy and His salvation was intended for everyone—even an outcast.
The Parable of the Lost Sheep – Luke 15:17
In this parable, Jesus compares God to a shepherd and a sinner to the sheep. Just as the shepherd rejoices on finding his lost sheep, so God rejoices whenever we turn to him for forgiveness after wandering from him through our sin.
The Prodigal Son – Luke 15:11-32
Just as the father celebrates the homecoming of his lost son, God also rejoices when we confess our sins and our return to him.
The Unforgiving Servant – Matt. 18:21-35
In this parable, Jesus tells us to keep on forgiving and to have mercy on others. He forgives us all the time for small and big things so why wouldn’t we forgive others just the same. It’s not always easy but it’s what God wants us to do!
Jesus Heals the Paralytic – Mark 2:1-12
Jesus knew what this man needed most because He knew what was in his heart. Jesus knew that being paralyzed was difficult but it was even worse not to be forgiven.
Please watch this video with your child
