God, I Trust You…

Service Type:

| One of the worst spiritual experiences a person could ever have is feeling rejected and abandoned by God Himself.  Jesus, in his humanity, took on that darkness himself in the Garden of Gethsemane when he prayed intensely that the Father exempt him from the cross.  As we know, Jesus’ request that night was not granted.  But does that mean the Father was deaf or indifferent to Jesus’ prayer? By no means.  The Father heard Christ’s prayer, but he was working at an even deeper level to bring about the final victory for Christ and for all of us.  This Sunday, we will reflect more deeply on the experience of Christ at Gethsemane and seek to deepen our trust in the Heavenly Father, who always hears and answers our prayers.
